Summer 1981. Ed Ball back for recording sessions for the second TVP LP, 'Mummy Your Not Watching Me' [rel Jan 82], which included 'Gifted Children' session tracks done with Bernie Cooper. Debut tour of Holland Aug 1981.
Ed Ball left at the beginning of 1982, citing differences between Dan and himself over the future direction of their Whaam! label, and his wish to concentrate on his own band, The Times.

May 1982. Joe Foster returned for two gigs in Germany, as Ed Ball was unavailable - supporting Nico at the Berlin Free University, then Hamburg the following evening.

Autumn 1982 - Spring 1983 gig lineup.
Mark Sheppard departed in Spring 1983 and later joined the Barracudas.

Summer 1983 lineup. Various drummers were used for live performances, including the singer from the group Mood Six at one Living Room performance. Recording sessions for 'The Painted Word' LP took place.
Note that the tracks on the album with drums are earlier recordings, made with Mark Sheppard.

Jowe Head replaced Mark Flunder for the tour of Europe in January 1984.
Joe Foster and Dave Musker had departed by mid-1984.

1984 - 1993
Amongst others, this lineup recorded:
'How I Learned to Love the Bomb' single (1986).
'Privilege' LP (1990).
'Closer To God' LP (1992).
'Strangely Beautiful' EP (1991).
'She's Never Read My Poems' EP (1992).

The trio also took the TVPs to the US for the first time, Spring 1992.
Note that Ed Ball played keyboards for some gigs at the end of 1988.
Jeff Bloom departed before the tour of the USA in mid-1993.

1993 - 94.
Lenny was in the band for the return trip to America (Summer 1993) and the tour of Japan in the Spring of 1994. He can be heard on the live albums 'Top Gear' and 'Made in Japan' (both from that tour). Dan employed several other drummers during this period also, including Matthew Fletcher (then of the band Heavenly), and Mark Flunder on one occasion.
Jowe Head departed after 1994 tour of Japan.

1994 - 95.
Dan recorded mostly solo at Toe Rag studios around this time, with assistance from Liam on percussion. Eg the 'I Was A Mod Before You Was A Mod' album, which also featured backing vocals by Sexton.

This trio toured Germany in May 1995.

Graeme Wilson replaced Liam on bass.

The last TVP gig for 8 years took place in June 1996 in London on their return.

Television Personalities re-emerged in 2004.
Graeme Wilson (then playing with The Projects) also helped out in studio recording sessions in October 2004.
Mathew Sawyer replaced by John Bennett by mid-2006.
